The Talaandig Community in Songco, Lantapan, Bukidnon, celebrated their 9th IP-Moro-Settlers Kinship last March 8, 2020.
This celebration highlighted the re-affirmation of the IP, Moro and Settlers’ kinship as basis of their cooperation, understanding and unity as they continue the history once trekked by their ancestors. This celebration also acknowledged the long history of friendship between the IP and the Moro. It was also the International Day of Women and it was highly acknowledge by their tribal chieftain, Datu Vic Saway. “The life of the community of the Talaandigs, are women. Whenever I see women, it really makes me happy, knowing that with their presence, our tribe will survive anything”, he said.
Songco, Lantapan is also known to be the home of Bukdinon’s finest artists. They portrayed their dances, showed their art through music and with their famous soil paintings.
