Xavier Science Foundation, Inc is engaged with another project together with the Asian NGO Coalition for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ANGOC) and German Development Agency (GIZ) titled “Mitigating the impact of COVID-19 through enhancing food nutrition and tenure security of rural households in Northern Mindanao”.
Part of this initiative is the education and awareness raising on the current situation headed by the Catholic Media Network, a network of Catholic radio and television stations, dedicated to the promotion of the New Evangelization and of total human development, through a unified strategy of community-based broadcasting. They also promote of truth and to the attainment of solidarity and brotherhood; of food and freedom; of jobs and justices; of land and equity. The identified topics for broadcast focuses on the context of COVID-19 at its effects on the rural farmers and indigenous peoples in Northern Mindanao. It will also highlight discussions on land and tenure rights, food security and nutrition of the rural farmers and indigenous peoples in the Mt. Kalatungan Range in Bukidnon and Gingoog Bay and Mt. Balatukan area in Misamis Oriental.
The first broadcast was aired on August 18, 2020 on DXDB Radyo Bandilyo’s official Facebok page. Series of interviews with Mt. Kalatungan IP leaders will be aired throughout the broadcast season. For more information, you may tune in to these dates and radio stations:
