Globally, many people are afraid, uncertain and downhearted because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But alongside these dark sentiments, deeds of solidarity have surfaced. Our frontliners, especially the health workers have shown compassion to their communities and have been dearly committed to their work despite the challenging conditions. Businesses and national government have provided support especially to the vulnerable people and various organizations also stepped up to help those in need.
Now more than ever, Xavier Science Foundation, Inc. finds it necessary to provide a simple gesture by giving a generous amount of food relief packs to our partner communities. One of these communities is Brgy. Dansolihon in which the Kaabag sa Kalambuan pinaagi sa Kabtangan sa Katilingban (KKKK), XSF’s project is located. KKKK is working with ChildFund Philippines and supported by Taiwan Fund for children and families dedicated to ensure the holistic development and protection of children.
Another community that XSF helped was our partner community in El Gaucho. The team was able to provide it to the El Gaucho beneficiaries, temporary relocation occupants, El Gaucho security guards and some tillers.
The relief operation happened last April 25 for Brgy. Dansolihon with 151 relief packages delivered to the community. The next day, the team was able to give 122 relief packages to El Gaucho respectively. During the distribution, BLGUs of the community made themselves available to show support to their communities.
Despite this deep distress felt around the world, there is also a growing understanding of the importance of unity, cooperation and resiliency. We should work together in healing our land.
Great job XSF! May you continue to channel hope and courage to all your partner-communities. Mabuhay!
