Xavier Science Foundation, Inc. through its Women Organizations Managing Agri-based Networks (WOMAN) for a Sustainable Society staff together with women leaders of select Lanao del Norte organizations went on a learning visit to Zamboanga del Sur and met with the Women Empowerment Movement – Rural Improvement Club for a two-day excursion on June 17-18, 2018.
The purpose of the visit is to learn from the WEM-RIC experience in implementing initiatives to foster women empowerment. The WOMAN team was welcomed by Ms. Elynn Maghinay, Pagadian City Agriculture Admin Officer together with staff of WEM-RIC City and Provincial levels namely Annie Tenorio, Provincial President, Rowena Soria, City Agriculturist, Cynthia Cabato-on, City Coordinator, Sally Saquin, 4H Coordinator, Aurelia Mansanades, City Federation Vice-President and Francisca Alderete, Provincial Coordinator. WEM-RIC showcased their Sunday Market initiative called FarmHers Market, where members display various products, vegetables and fruits at the city center. The WOMAN team will soon implement a similar initiative in consonance for the FOR MINDANAO project of Cluster 1.
